Before being given this writing assignment. I never gave much thought my philosophy on life. I simply just lived life. If someone asked me what my life philosophy was a decade ago, I would have given some silly answer like” stay black and die.” But life has happened; I have had many ups and downs, setback and triumphs and met people from all different walks of life. Webster defines philosophy as a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior. Having a life philosophy of life gives one a guiding phrase of how to live each and every day. It’s the core of who you are & how you want to live.
Your life philosophy is not rigid or fixed, but rather progressive and evolves as you do as a person. It guides you and gives you clarity and direction for how you act, think, perceive and conduct yourself daily. You don’t need to write your life philosophy down or even tell it to anyone. It is within you. should be able to articulate it to yourself, so you have an understanding of what you stand for, and how you want to behave daily. Philosophy of life will be differing from person to person. A person’s philosophy will vary depending on life experience, morals, values and culture. No two people will see life in the same way because no two people are exactly the same. Many people may have a similar outlook on life and maybe even a similar philosophy on life but no two peoples will be exactly the same because no one is 100% the same. I will share my thoughts and ideas on my philosophy of life. Mine has changed over the years, from something as simple and silly as “Stay black and die” to something more optimistic and beautiful. My previous perspective reflected where I was at that point in my life. I was young, immature and inexperienced.
However, things have changed and my life experiences have shaped my perspective on life. My current life philosophy comes from one of my favorite quotes. “The EARTH without ART is just EH.” Art is an important component of my life. It has been such a powerful tool for my growth as a person. I see art and use art in every part of my life. From the changing fall leaves, to taking notes in rainbow colors during class lectures, or making shapes out from the clouds in the window seat of an airplane. Art is everywhere and it is important to me. If I didn’t have art in my life it would be boring. Or as the quote says “EH”. My love for art has birthed my own art company called “Painting with a Purpose”. For me art is everywhere. Being an artist helps me see the beauty in everything. I also believe art heals. It has healed so much of my emotional pain. So I firmly believe “The EARTH without ART is just EH”
