Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part or several parts of the body. Recently, there are many types of cancers have been existed in our world. All types of cancers are exceedingly dangerous and terrible for people who get it. Many people have an intense wish to stay away from diseases in cancer. However, sometimes, it is not always can be controlled by themselves. Numerous reasons can cause a person to acquire cancers. Conversely, various ways can prevent a person from staying away from cancer. If someone is a cancerous person, it is possible to overcome cancers even though the possibility might not be huge. In North America, awareness and treatment of common cancers has improved based on public knowledge, early detection strategies, and innovative treatment. Cancers have smart ways to treat compared with many years ago; lifestyle can make changes to avoid cancers or stand up to cancers; the doctors have their preferred and conventional treatments for severe cases. The awareness and treatment of cancers are on the right track to becoming better.

In the modern world, some of the well-known cancers contain breast cancer and lung cancer. In the United States and Canada, lung cancer is the biggest reason that causes people to die from cancer disease. In the United States, the amount of lung cancer cases was 117,000 before 1980. Rapid development leads to nearly doubled numbers of lung cancer cases from 1980. People who are cancer patients increased dramatically. (Francine L. Jacobson, MD, MPH, & John H. M. Austin, MD, & John K. Field, MA, PhD BDS, FRCPath, & James R. Jett, MD, & Shaf Keshavjee, MSc, FRCSC, MD, & Heber MacMahon, MB, BCh, & James L. Mulshine, MD, & Reginald F. Munden, MD, DMD, MBA, & Ravi Salgia, MD, PhD, & Gary M. Strauss, MD, & David J. Sugarbaker, MD, & Scott J. Swanson, MD, & William D. Travis, MD, & Michael T. Jaklitsch, Md. 2012, page 25). According to evidence presented by the National Cancer Institute in 2012, they reported that in the United States, 226,160 new cancer cases diagnosed and 160, 340 deaths influence by cancer issues. In Canada, statistics show that 25,600 new cancer cases need to deal with, and 20,200 will die from cancer disease. In both Canada and the United States, many people who are a cancer patient that needs treatment, customarily aged 70 years or above it. At the age of around 70 years old or above this age, it is hard to survive for an extended period or overcome cancer disease. (Francine L. Jacobson, MD, MPH, & John H. M. Austin, MD…… 2012, page 25) For breast cancer, it mostly occurs for women; each year, patients of breast cancer who need to diagnose are account for higher than 1 million. Among the numbers, 400,000 women die from breast cancer. The mortality for breast cancer in North America developed countries are much lower than in developing countries, and it is approximately five percent per year. ( Martijn T. Groot, MSc, & Rob Baltussen, Ph.D., & Carin A. Uyl-de Groot, Ph.D., & Benjamin O. Anderson, MD, & Gabriel N. Hortobágyi, MD. (2006), page 581) Cancer can be a huge health concern for people, and it is possible to survive after you catch cancer disease or done some treatments. The premise of this is that you have a correct lifestyle, follow the doctor’s instructions and be brave while treatment is given out to you. In 204, nearly 14.5 million amount of people were survivors of cancer in the United States. Surprisingly, 64% of cancer survivors are in the long term, which they were diagnosed more than five years ago. Studies have shown that until January of 2024, the number of people who are cancer survivors can rise to nearly 19 million. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 244)

Lifestyle is a significant problem for people who are cancer patients. Presently, in lung cancer, a lifestyle is smoking. There are ninety-four million and former smokers in the United States who have a high risk of lung cancer. In addition to this, smoking is the biggest issue that brings people to death in lung cancer in the United States and Canada. (Francine L. Jacobson, MD, MPH, & John H. M. Austin, MD…… 2012, page 25.) Another lifestyle is in eating. Research has indicated that people whose dietary supplementation with vitamin E or beta carotene were not beneficial in the mitigation of lung cancer disease. In fact, researchers have found out that patients with lung cancer who eat bet carotene could 18% more harmful than not getting beta carotene. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 248.) In breast cancer, an unhealthy eating habit can be one of the lifestyles that influence on breast cancer. Studies have demonstrated that people who overeat and it leads them to gain more weight could bring a significant risk in breast cancer. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 244)A high-fat diet can increase the risk of recurrence among postmenopausal breast cancer quickly. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. ((Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 249.) All these lifestyles can be leading a person to cancer disease fastly and easily.

Both lung cancer and breast cancer are terrible diseases to get for a person. Cancer can be prevented and avoided in some ways. Usually, lung cancer caused by smoking for either long term or short term is prevalent. The first step to do as a patient of lung cancer is to refuse any cigarettes and no hope for smoking again. In other words, to quit smoking as soon as possible. One of the most prominent adverse outcomes is increasing the risk of death. Besides that, keep smoking can make lung cancer getting worse or untreatable. Smoking cessation brings you health and a clean respiratory system. It is highly recommended to avoid getting lung cancer. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 251.) Another lifestyle for people to have is to get the right amount of physical activities. Research has established that any form of lung cancer influences many degrees of physical or functional impairments. It can exceedingly simple to lead a patient’s lack of ability to exercise and make health worse if a patient does not have an effective physical activity style. A correct method of physical exercise can help to get well quickly and adjust your body’s movement. The longer a patient stays inactive for physical activity, the worse the body development they gain. Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 250. ) Furthermore, breast cancer has some similar things to do as lung cancer, but there is also something else you can do to avoid to get the disease of breast cancer. Healthy body weight or well-managed body weight can help a patient to decrease the risk of breast cancer. Research has been shown that weight gain is related to higher cancer-specific and all-cause mortality. A meta-analysis states that in 2000,000 breast cancer patients, the people who are overweight in obese pre and postmenopausal women are 75% and 34 % more in mortality. The risky result indeed shows how important it is to manage your body weight well, and it helps you not to stay so close to breast cancer. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 245.) Besides, according to The Physical Activity in Lymphedema, they demonstrated that weight training can help breast cancer survivors to decrease the chance of catching breast cancer again or assist people who are not having breast cancer yet to avoid cancer disease in the breast. In other words, this way is to do physical exercise as a way to prevent getting cancer. To be specific, weight training can lower the incidence of lymphedema exacerbations and reduce symptoms. Training is a safe way to become healthier and very beneficial for people’s health. It provides a precise method to let people avoid getting breast cancer. (Namrata Vijayergia and Crystal S. Denlinger. (2015), page 249.)

Time is amazing. There are many differences between the past and the present. Early detection and treatment of lung cancer and breast cancer, both are a foundation for better development in the future. Lung cancer is the most common disease for cancer death compared to some other types of cancers in North America. In 1999, the statistics showed that approximately 170,000 new lung cancer patients would be diagnosed, and only less than 15% of this number of people could survive in their disease. In the past, smoking brings a significant health problem for people, and it keeps increasing incidence for those who are often smoking. Lung cancer generally targeted to people who are smokers no matter long or short term. Early treatment for lung cancer contains screening tumours, sputum cytology examinations and effective endobronchial treatment. An example of effective endobronchial treatment is laser hyperthermia with the Nd. It contains YAG, cryotherapy, electrocautery, or photodynamic therapy with porfimer sodium Z. Lung cancer is a terrible health issue. (Stephen Lam MD & FRCPC Hiroshi. (1999), pages 53 and 58.) Additionally, breast cancer is typically the most common cancer disease in ladies. It is a hazardous disease, sometimes ladies who have breast cancer might struggle in life for a long time. Also, if a lady no breast can bring them many issues and lower the confidence they have before. In the past, breast cancer’s treatment was not a lot, and the doctors tried randomized trials, the treatment they used for a breast cancer patient was radiotherapy. (ELIZABETH CEILLEY, M.D. & RESHMA JAGSI, M.D. & D.PHIL., & SAVELI GOLDBERG, PH.D. & LAURENT GRIGNON, B.S. & LISA KACHNIC, M.D. & SIMON POWELL, M.D. PH.D. & ALPHONSE TAGHIAN, M.D. PH.D. (2004), page 365).

With the improvement of all aspects of society, the level of medical treatment is also very high. There are more methods available and unique to solve the difficulty of lung cancers and breast cancer. In lung cancers, LDCT is one of the common diagnoses. Its full name called a low-dose CT scan. Research shows that LDCT helped more than 400,000 who had lung cancer before and survived in the long term to still stay healthy in the United States and Canada. Some other treatments that used recently and the doctors preferred are neoadjuvant therapy, adjuvant therapy, palliative care, definitive sequential chemotherapy and radiation. If the situation is horrible, to get rid of lung cancer is to do pneumonectomy. It’s horrible but helpful to become well again for the patient. All these methods in lung cancer had huge influences on people who get lung cancer because the number of survivors is growing sharply every year. (Francine L. Jacobson, MD, MPH, & John H. M. Austin, MD, & John K. Field, MA, PhD BDS, FRCPath, & James R. Jett, MD, & Shaf Keshavjee, MSc, FRCSC, MD, & Heber MacMahon, MB, BCh, & James L. Mulshine, MD, & Reginald F. Munden, MD, DMD, MBA, & Ravi Salgia, MD, PhD, & Gary M. Strauss, MD, & David J. Sugarbaker, MD, & Scott J. Swanson, MD, & William D. Travis, MD, & Michael T. Jaklitsch, Md. (2012), page 27 ); (Nirmal K. Veeramachaneni, MD, & Richard H. Feins, MD, & Briana J.K. Stephenson, MPH, & Lloyd J. Edwards, PhD., & Felix G. Fernandez, MD (2012), page 923.) In breast cancer, there are multiple stages. Therefore, there have different treatments for different stages. Early-stage of breast cancer, their treatment is breast-conserving therapy with adjuvant radiation therapy. For the patient who is in breast cancer, many people wish to keep their breast if possible, especially for a lady. So this way of treatment is a fantastic way to help people save their breasts. Other treatments for breast cancer diseases include lumpectomy with axillary dissection supplemented with external radiotherapy to the breast, endocrine therapy, and neoadjuvant therapy. Doing any of these types of treatment has to see the patient’s physical condition. The therapy method must be suitable for cancer patients. (ELIZABETH CEILLEY, M.D. & RESHMA JAGSI, M.D. & D.PHIL., & SAVELI GOLDBERG, PH.D. & LAURENT GRIGNON, B.S. & LISA KACHNIC, M.D. & SIMON POWELL, M.D. PH.D. & ALPHONSE TAGHIAN, M.D. PH.D. (2004), page 365 ); ( Martijn T. Groot, MSc, & Rob Baltussen, Ph.D., & Carin A. Uyl-de Groot, Ph.D., & Benjamin O. Anderson, MD, & Gabriel N. Hortobágyi, MD. (2006), section 82.)

In conclusion, cancer is a scary disease, but it is getting better with the early investigation, people’s cognitive background, new development and suitable life habits. Let’s pay more attention to our bodies and stay away from any cancers.
