Accountability Accountability is an important thing to a soldier because it helps him or her to keep track of stuff that is vital to ones and others safety. The U.S. army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable-arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most important formation of the day.
It is made to get accountability of everyone and put out any information that there needs to be dealt with. Without having accountability there does not know of where everybody is or what’s going on. As a result of me showing up late and not calling in I am pending U.C.M.J. action under article 15. Know knowing the severity, I have realized that is an important asset always showing up on time at the right place of duty.
Not only does accountability matter in formation it is also imperative to have accountability of all your weapons and sensitive items. Incase of something happening spontaneously and you don’t have a clue where you weapon or sensitive items are, but then you really need them.I am an American Soldier.I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission
first. I will never accept defeat.I will never quit.I will never leave a fallen comrade.I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.I am an expert and I am a professional.I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.I am an American Soldier.
The most important part in the Soldiers Creed more me in this moment and time is I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself. I now realize the severity of losing my id card because what if the enemy got a hold of my id card, he could have pasted his picture over mine and no one would tell the difference. With that being said, I could have put myself and others in harms way, because of that stupid and idiotic thing that I have done I now have to pay the price for doing something so retarded.
One form of accountability is best found in an anime called DDNSBleach D,Ñce. The reason for it is that toward the end of the first season and the second season, a character in the series known as Rukia gave a guy named Ichigo her death god powers to him so he can save his family and friends, but in the end other death gods came after Rukia because she stayed in the human world for the point they found out that she gave her death god powers to Ichigo and because of that, Rukia was taken back to the soul society to face her punishment for she has done.
A death god that gives his or her powers to a human is punishable by death and that was RukiaÐ3Ð,&cs punishment for she had done. To say the least Rukia never died for her punishment cause thanks to the help of Ichigo and his friends cause they came to the soul society to save Rukia and they succeeded in their quest. That some things that people are accounted for can be punishable by death.
This makes me believe that having accountability for my items is very important because I know that if when I get out of the army I can be in a very high role and I might loose something like in the last article and that could hurt our troops. Losing any kind of sensitive Item could be hurtful to me and any of my battle buddies from the smallest things like night vision glasses or something like my seatbelt cutter.
I also believe that something like my left arm dap and I could get shot in the left arm or shrapnel could hit me in my arm. I also could lose my weapon and not be able too shoot at someone if we get attacked and we have too dismount and I won’t be able to fire back at anyone or anything I need too.
So learning from what I have done and also knowing the severity of what could happen, I have no doubt in my mind that I will not let that happen again because I will not put myself and others in my platoon in harms way for my stupidity, cause if anyone should die for my stupidity it should be me because I made it happen and shouldnÐ2Ð,act have.
The military defines accountability as the obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person for keeping accurate record of property. documents, or funds. The person having this obligation may or may not have actual possession of the property, documents, or funds. Accountability is concerned primarily with records, while responsibility is concerned primarily with custody, care, and safekeeping.
The most important thing (being in this unit and company) is to accomplish the mission, if I cause the mission to SP late that could quite possibly cause us to not make our RP time or to have to cancel the mission due to me not being able to keep accountability of my equipment. So in short, I have to say least that I know that I will always keep account of my weapon, my surefire, my PEQ-2, my ACOG, my NVGS, and especially my ID card, so the enemy doesnÐ3Ð,a,ct take advantage of me and my comrades. I will try my best to keep account of my sensitive items and keep them well maintained to the best of abilities.
