Perkins was seen as a pioneer in the creation of rock and roll, he describes his music often as “Rockabilly’ because it sounds like a combination of country and R with rock influences. Perkins wrote the chart topping Blue Suede Shoes in 1955 which was then covered by the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” who enjoyed even more of its success. Also this is good as it allows new and different genres to emerge.
