Canada is a young country, but it has created many great people who have subversive influence and change in sports, human rights, science and technology. The contributions of these people have given the world a wide range of insights into Canada. Alexander Graham Bell, who has many inventions and achievements, the outstanding national hockey player Sidney Crosby, and Craig Kielburger, who is constantly fighting for children’s rights, they all made Canada a better place. Now people are at home, they can talk without going out, because every household is using the phone, and Alexander Graham Bell is the person who invented the phone. Next time you pick up the phone to call a friend or order a pizza, say thanks to Alexander Graham Bell. More than a hundred and twenty- five years ago, he invented the telephone, and his invention changed the world. But the telephone was just one of many accomplishments in his long and inventive life. He set records for flight and water speed, helped make National Geographic one of the most popular magazines in the world, improved the phonograph, and invented everything from metal probes and air conditioners to water purifiers and iceberg detectors. Bell founded his own communications company in 1877, and now Canada’s Bell mobile phone service is related to this.
From today’s Bell Communications of Canada to the telephone we use in our daily lives are all related to him. Therefore, Bell was also one of the greatest Canadians selected by the CBC, and his history of inventing telephones as a Canadian was confirmed by the Congressional vote in 2002. In his later years, Bell returned to Canada to help the Navy invent the hydrofoil and improved the phonograph. He died in 1922 and dedicated his life to Canada. Then there’s the best hockey player in Canada which is Sidney Patrick Crosby. He was born August 7, 1987, in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. Crosby raised the Stanley Cup for the first time in 2009.
The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Red Wings in the Cup Final. Less than a year later, Crosby had the gold metal, too. It was a dream come true for both Crosby and his country. He had carried the weight of Canada on his shoulders heading into the Olympics. Under the leadership of Crosby, the Penguins ranked first in the Eastern Conference regular season. His outstanding performance and high score in the team made people become fans of him, and he lived up to the expectations of everyone in every game. He represented Canada more than once in the Winter Olympics and won the championship. Let ice hockey come into view, let people around the world know about Canada and its national sport. This is something that makes Canadians proud and happy, and Crosby carries the trophy of hope for him and represents Canada’s honor. The last one I want to talk about is Craig Kielburger. Craig Kielburger is a speaker, a writer , and an activist. He cares about the issue of children’s rights. Craig travels the world to promote this cause. He began his activism when he was just 12 years old. That is when he started Free the Children, a group that speaks out for children.
Craig also writes books and makes speeches. He did so to make people around the world aware of the children of the remote villages and their poor lives, and to raise funds to help them out of poverty. Nowadays, the foundation he founded, “Free the Children”, has become the world’s largest mutual aid organization for young people. They have achieved great success. Free the Children has helped thousands of people. There are five Free the Children offices in NOrth America. The organization has built more than 440 schools in 21 countries. It also provides clean water and health supplies to children in poor countries. The way that Craig Kielburger contributes to Canadian society is by focusing his foundation, We Day, heavily in Canada. Craig’s organizations have affected Canadian society by involving them in a positive change in countries in need by providing them with the technology to donate, create groups for change, travel to these countries to build schools and get involved , know when events are that they can get involved in, buy products online that go to a cause, and , also, book a speaker to come to your gathering to inspire any generation to help promote change around the world.
To sum up, Canada’s current good development and its outstanding international reputation are inextricably linked to these people. However, their achievements have not been achieved overnight, but have gone through a long and unremitting effort. And it’s because of their hard work and dedication that people remember them and treat them as great people in Canada. Everything they do is worthy of respect, and everyone regards them as role models.
