“There are no regrets in life only lessons learned. ” This quote is very important to because it means that there is no point in wasting your time regretting things that you cannot change, but instead, you can change your future and turn the mistake into a well learned life lesson. I can relate to this quote in many ways, one of which being that I like to always try new things in life. I always approach new opportunities and challenges with an open mind. I can also relate to this quote because I do what I want to do and what I like to do in my personal life and in my work life, not what other people tell me or expect me to do.
Lastly, I relate closely with this quote because I am still growing up and maturing. Most teenagers myself included will start to become rebellious and want to experiment and try new things, and for almost all mistakes made, something new can be learned. As long as you learn from the mistakes that you have made, it helps you learn more about yourself. As I mentioned earlier, I always try new things and try to approach new challenges, openings, or opportunities with enthusiasm.
It was the near end of my ninth grade, when my mom had told me that my grandmother was sick and she would have to go back to Zimbabwe to take care of her. My mom gave my the choice to either to back with her or stay in Canada on my own,of course being fourteen years old at the time I was terrified and scared of what would happen to me, all I was conceded about was my friends, and completing school with my friends, after talking to the guidance counsellor I came to the decision that I would stay back and finish my ninth grade and start the tenth grade.
My mom arranged for me to stay with a close family friend who has been in our lives for many years, who lived on her own because her daughters were in university. I was very nervous about the situation, what would life be like with out my mom there every morning? was my moms friend going to act like a mother or just let me do my own thing? I had so many questions but told myself I need to think positively for myself and for my mom so she doesn’t feel uncomfortable leaving me here alone, when my mom was leaving I told her that I would be okay.
My experience with living with moms friend taught me little life lessons, I was forced to have to grow up a little early, getting my self up for school, making my own lunch, doing my own laundry basically to things for myself without my mom being there to make sure I’m doing my stuff. If I hadn’t lived with my mom, I wouldn’t be here today living alone with a roommate and being able to balance school, work, and my social life. The quote I chose also relates to me because I do what I like or love to do in my social life and my work life.
I work as a hostess at TurtleJack’s Muskoka Grill in the maple view all located in burlington and I love my job. All of my co-workers are amazing people to be around and talk to always willing to help and supportive, the managers are easy going and understanding when you explain to them any concerns I may have. My managers don’t necessarily care how a job gets done as long as it does get done and the guests are satisfied. I enjoy going to work, not only because I like the people there but I have been working at TurtleJacks since I started grade nine, so for me Its like my 2nd home.
In the future I would like to have a job where I love working there and the people are nice because, “if you choose a job you love, you will never work another day in your life. ” – Confucius. Loving your job is a very important thing in life and it relates back to the first quote because if you love what you do, then you will have no regrets about life. Myself being a teenager and still growing up, I can very closely relate to this quote because when most kids or teenagers are growing up, they start to rebel against rules. It is a natural thing for kids like me to do as they are growing up.
Teenagers will start to experiment and try new things because they don’t know any better. I have gotten in trouble for doing stupid things like staying out late and not completing school work and getting bad grades, Although I only got in trouble with my parents and I learned from the mistakes that I made so I will not make them again in the future. I definitely think the quote, “there are no regrets in life, only lessons,” is meaningful to my life in many ways, one of which being that I always try new things with a positive attitude because even if it doesn’t go well, then I will have learned something from the experience.
Secondly, I have a job that I love and would like to also have a job I love in the future so I can enjoy my life when I’m either at work or at home. Finally, I personally have experimented and tried new things, and when those decisions that I made turned out badly, I did end up getting in trouble but I learned from the mistakes that were made. I will keep trying new things and most likely make some more bad decisions throughout my life, but it is better to try and fail than to not have tried at all.
