Firstly, in the story’’Eleven’’,Rachel feels lonely because her teacher does not believe in her and makes her to take the ugly red sweater.Rachel has to take the sweater but she tries to protest it by puts it in the corner of the table.This makes her teacher gets mad and orders Rachel to put the sweater on and stop acting foolish.Rachel puts on the sweater,it is old ,itchy and smell likes cottage cheese.Then,Rachel brushes her face into her arms and start crying.Before lunch time,one of Rachel’s classmate claims that the sweater is hers.Rachel takes it off immediately and gives it back but the teacher does not apologize to her and pretends everything is fine.
Secondly,in the story’’Blanket’’,the Son experienced loneliness in different way.His dad has a girlfriend and she does not like the Granddad.As a result,they decide to send the Granddad to the nursing home and the Dad gives his dad a double-blanket as a goodby-girf. Petey does not like this idea,he and the Granddad spend the last evening together.The Granddad takes his fiddle and plays the old tune to make the Son remembers about him.When dad and his fiancee come home,the song stopped.The fiancee is mad with the dad about the blanket then she runs away.Then Petey runs into the house and suggests a solution.He will cut the blanket in half and he will give the Dad that part when he gets older like the Granddad.In the end,the dad receives the poem justice.
Thirdly,in the story’’The Bracelet’’, Emi feels lonely because her family is going to be sent to the Japanese prison camp during the world between Japan and United States.She does not want to leave her friends,her home and her school.Her best friend,Laurie Madison,gives her a golden chain with a charm heart as a goodbye gift and she promises to keep it forever.When she comes to the prison camp,she assigned to a stall that used for horse.Suddenly,she realizes that she lost her bracelet then she is trying her best to find it.She cries and thinks without the bracelet she can not remember anything about her friend.Therefore,her mother helps her to understand that she does not need anything to remember about who is important to us
To sum up,three characters all experienced the laziness but in the different circumstance. Besides,I see myself in Emi because I feel the same way like she does,When I first get into the airplane and go to United States to study,I missed my friends,my school,my family into pieces. It is not easy to study abroad away everything you used to.My favorite quotes of three stories is ‘’Those are things we can carry in our hearts and take with us no matter where we are sent’’. .
