The AntiFederalists best represented the interests of the people in the argument over ratification by Supporting the people’s rights and make everyone equal. The AntiFederalists wanted to protect the rights of the people by creating a Bill of rights. Though the Federalist would disagree and say that the rights have already been said in the constitution and there isn’t a point in putting it in. They said it will give the government less power, though that’s just what a big group want. The reason for the bill of rights is to protect the United States from tyranny and protect every individual’s freedom,
In the constitution it says, “We the people” while the Anti Federalists papers says “No one man, therefore, or any class of men, have a right, by the law of nature, or of God, to assume or exercise authority over their fellows”(Brutus). If the constitution “We the people” should not everyone be able to have some sort of power. If the natural said so then it would be a straight up no, because “No one man, therefore, or any class of men, have a right, by the law of nature, or of God, to assume or exercise authority over their fellows” (Brutus). Every man is born equal and with unalienable rights the bible says we are all one, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians, 3). What this means is that no matter what circumstance we all are one.
So one man cannot rule over another just because of their Intelligence and wealth for that would be tyranny, Which is why the Bill of rights is needed to limit the power of the government and protect the people. A strong central government will only lead to tyranny, “it cannot be denied that this constitution is, in its first principles, highly and dangerously oligarchical; and it is everywhere agreed, that a government administered by a few, is, of all governments, the worst” (Leonidas). The job of the people is to secure the liberty, letting one small of group of men run the government will turn into what they just got out of a monarchy. We deal with governments likes this now and it’s not good like Russia and The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, some would argue that America today is an oligarchy. The colonists that just fought for their freedom must have rights so it will not happen again.
Strong central governments will only lead to riots or even a civil war. A bill of rights is needed to limit the power of the government and if the people know their rights tyranny would be impossible. For this to happen we would have to work together and give everyone a say. We should learn from others mistakes history repeats itself. Finally by supporting the people’s rights the Anti Federalists best represented the people in the argument over ratification. And Federalist would disagree and say that the rights have already.
