Juan Ramirez Marysue St. George Midterm Janurary 15, 2019 Into The Wild In the novel “ Into The Wild” by Jon Krakauer “ Alex” which is Chris is a faithful transcendentalist who never gives up. Chris believed in no rules and life should be freely lived instead of always being against you.
Chris felt that there was no way out and he was trapped in something and couldn’t seek a way out. One thing about Chris he never gave up and kept motivated to reach his goal which caused his death later on in the novel. “The core of man’s spirit comes from new experiences” chapter 6, represents how Chris believed how life should be freely lived.
Christopher Johnson McCandless donated $25,000 to Oxfam charity. He burnt all the cash in the wallet and also ripped his identifications license, social. Chris father was a very successful intelligent man who had wealth. Growing older Chris thought about society and being raised in a wealthy home and that made him wonder more about society and gave more information on why he wanted to try something new. “Don’t settle down and sit in one place. Move around, be nomadic, make each day a new horizon.”
Chris always talked about becoming one with nature. When he wrote this letter to Ronald Franz he is talking about nature and is sharing ideas to live a better life in the wild. While working at Mcdonalds in Bullheads, managers and employees stated he loved nature and always mentioned it.
‘He was always going about on about trees and nature weird stuff like that” assistant manager Lori stated pg(40). “ I wanted to movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrfice myself for my love . I felt in myself a superabundance of energy which found no outlet in our quiet life( pg 14)”. The motivation or never giving up and pushing forward to what chris wanted.
Nature called his name and he was fearless and ready for any obstacle that tried to get in his way. Chris a strong transcendentalist who never gave up and succeeded in his goal. He believed in no rules and life should be freely lived.Everythting he has gone through to surpass this goal is crazy.Leaving everything behind to approach this free life and admiring the beauty of nature. The courage Chris had to fulfill his dream and accomplish no one else would have.This represents a transcendentalist who worked hard to get where he wanted.
