    Is the longest memory a historical novel? A novel about bondage? A love narrative? A mortality narrative? Why did Fred D’Aguiar compose this novel? What were his purposes? The longest memory is a historic novel of bondage. love and morality about the events that happened during the bondage times. Fred D’Aguiar wrote this novel to give the universe a position of what happened to the slaves during this barbarous clip from a slave’s point of position. His purposes were to inform and carry modern people on what happened to the slaves which were equal to Whites. merely treated otherwise because of the coloring material of their tegument. D’Aguiar has ten different characters basically tell the same narrative but each storyteller has a somewhat different position. Why does he make this? I think Fred does this to demo the position of different people involved in what happened. Everyone had a different function and experience in the bondage yearss and by giving a small item of each characters life it gives the reader some apprehension of why things happened the manner they did. Whitechapel is speaking about how he has no privateness as he portions a hovel with so many other slaves. he feels as though he feels violated as there is really small infinite to make anything in. Why does Whitechapel state he will shout no more? Whitechapel says he will no longer shout because it seems as if he feels as though he is the life dead. What words are used to depict Whitechapel’s hurtful memories? Wordss such as Pain. Hurt. Crying. A sentence such as “the hereafter is merely more of the past waiting to happen” besides highlights the injury in Whitechapel’s head.

When his 2nd married woman dies. their boy flights from the plantation.
