HE APPEALED AND ARETRIAL WAS HELD AND RESULTED IN LIFE IMPRISONMENT. ONMARCH 7, 1956, HE WAS PAROLED AGAIN AND GIVEN AGOVERNMENT-MANDATED JOB IN YOUNGSTOWN,OHIO. IT LASTEDTHREE DAYS BEFORE HE DISAPPEARED.
ON NOVEMBER 21, 1956, HETURNED UP ON NORTH HOWARD STREET IN AKRON, OHIO,WHEREHE WALKED UP TO A PARKED CAR AND SHOT THE DRIVER, COBURNVON GUNTEN, DEAD. HE THEN DUMPED THE BODY ON THE STREETWHEN THE POLICE INTERVENED. THEY GOT INTO A GUN FIGHTWITH KEITH WHICH ENDED WITH TWO MORE PEOPLE DEAD. HETHEN WENT TO NEW YORK WHERE HE JOINED UP WITH TWO OTHERPEOPLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ROBBING A TAXI. THE TAXI PICKEDTHEM UP AND WHEN THE DRIVER REALIZED HE WAS BEINGROBBED HE PURPOSELY RAN INTO A COP CAR.
THEY JUMPED OUTOF THE CAR, BUT BEFORE HE GOT OUT LEROY SHOT THE DRIVER. HE WAS FINALLY CAUGHT AND EXECUTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SO HERE WAS JUST ONE INSTANCE WERE THE DEATH PENALTY ISCONSTITUTIONAL.
