No, it can steam from many different sectors. When it comes down to it, accountability is a substantial component of the success as a Leader. There are different ways to lead. A leader can be defined as a person who directs a group or unit. Transactional leadership is one way you can lead. It can be described as a clear-cut way to set structures where you can reward them in exchange for their dynamic relationships with subordinates. When you try to inspire, motivate, and empower soldiers to make decisions you could be considered a transformational leader. Some leaders have a strong sense to serve others before even thinking about themselves. That type of leaders is known as servant leaders. I would personally take a little from every leadership style. Some may ask what the importance of a leader is. I think the obvious answer would be because of the need of direction as a human being. As always wanting order in the chaos we call life. As the leader, you are remarkably instrumental in everyday life for a soldier.
When accountability and the leader come together, you can get exceptional results. How would I define this impact? I would define this with something close to perfection. Like when you have a leader who cares about their soldier and if they progress. You could relate this to a well-oiled machine or a beautifully painted picture. When you have the leader taking accountability of his/her soldiers by different ways, it shows a diversity of leadership styles. As a transactional leader, you may use an award system and hold them accountable by visually verifying tasks are complete. When you are a transformational leader, you could empower your soldiers by giving them the responsibility for duties. When you strive to serve, embody empathy, and acceptance. That may make you a servant leader. As a servant leader, accountability is a little different. Servant leadership sees an important opportunity to learn by working with soldiers to ensure a task or tasks are completed. Both parties work together until completion. Both parties are responsible or held accountable for the assignment. When it comes to the importance of accountability and the leader, together they add structure and a chain of command. With both, you can increase productivity and morale all because of the consistency.
