Normal. Is there a real definition to that word? No. When I hear the word “normal” all I can thing of is the second half of that word, “mal”. “Mal” is a negative word, meaning “badly”, “malodorous”, “malfunction” etc. If so many people consider normal a good thing, then why does the word itself have a completely different meaning? Many people these days are blinded by the reality of the life we live, only striving to fit in and act normal.

You never know how long you will be living, when your last breath will be, so why waste time trying to live by the standards of “normal”? Waking up in the morning, going to work, coming back home, eating, working out, and going to sleep. This is considered a “normal” life. What’s so great about that? What’s so special and unique about it? Nothing. That’s not the life I want to live. I want to live by the New Normal.

Life. There are two very important letters in that word, “L” and “F”. When I hear the word “life”, all that stands out to me are those two letters, a constant reminder of what the word really means. The “L” in life stands for love, the ability to love yourself and the others around you. To love and to be loved. Love is the only medicine to an aching heart, curing the harshness of our everyday struggles. Without love, who knows where we all would be. The most important type of love is the love of new ideas and possibilities.

This type of love is what ignites and sets on fire one’s unique soul, releasing out it’s ability to go against normal and bring about a beautiful difference in the world. Many people can experience this type of love, yet are unfortunately afraid to because anything new may go against the “normal” that they are used to and try to follow. I, on the other hand, want to go against the “normal”. I want this type of love to spark my soul and give me the strength to achieve an extraordinary type of success in this world, not just for myself, but for the good of all. Yet, I know I will need the help and love of my family and friends to carry on this path in my life. That is what the “F” in the word “life” stands for, family and friends.

Our family and friends are the keys to the doors of success in our lives. Their love and support is what helps us make the right decisions and choices, opening up certain doors in our lives that will help and guide us in achieving the unique and successful life we strive for. Yes, we are all capable of making our own decisions, but two minds are better than one. The poet Ryunosuke Satoro’s speaks one of my favorite quotes, saying that: “Individually we are one drop. Together we are an ocean”. We are all unique and individual souls and we can be something even greater with the love, help and support of our family and friends. That’s what I want.

The New Normal. It’s not so normal is it? It requires you to open up your eyes to the small things in life, the things that many take for granted, including love, family, and friends. We’re not made to live forever. We’re not given unlimited time to make a difference. We have to take action now and make every breath count. This New Normal is what will bring together all our unique and individual souls, shifting the world into a higher form of reality. One in which is powered by an extraordinary type of success. The type I want to achieve.
