I look around to see a vast area. A river separated the place I am sitting, school and downtown Tampa. The buildings are so tall and the sky behind it, is crystal clear blue, with no clouds in the sky surrounding. I can see all the brand banks with big letters such as Sykes, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. I lay on the cool grass, I can feel the cold breeze laying in the shade. I see the water from the hillsborough river flowing, and I watch the boats slowly pass by the calm water.
I can see people walking around the park, riding bikes, some couples taking pictures and enjoying the Florida sunshine in the beautiful weather. Surrounding in the landscape are green trees full of life. Near me is a bridge with cars driving through, I hear them as they speed by. In the distance, I can see more boats and another bridge with cars driving over it. There are also people biking over the bridge and a few homeless laying by the gate. The park is pretty quiet behind me, people walking their dogs and laying on the grass reading.
I see another group in a hammock. The environment is very peaceful bringing it all together from the shade to calm water, blue sky and big buildings towering over downtown tampa. I see a plane flying over the city circling with a flag advertisement. Further past the buildings are apartments each with a little balcony full of workers and people that live in this city. This isn’t my home but just laying here admiring everything really makes me think about what a special place this is. That’s why I chose this school, this campus is really extraordinary.
I love the city, it’s very different from home, I like different. Just sitting here and admiring this view, the weather feeling a little cold, viewing the big city. So many people everywhere and not to mention the cars constantly coming from everywhere in and out of the city. The daily commuter trying to beat the rush traffic. I chose this place in particular because I think it’s the most peaceful place on campus. I come here to think allot or when I just want to get away from the packed little city on campus.
Even at night when all the buildings lights are turned on and the sky is clear, it’s really nice come to this place. It just seems this place is the least congested to me. It’s a getaway, a place to come and clear my head or have long conversations. It may not be the most interesting place to describe but it’s completely different than any other place in Tampa. Being that the city and the campus is separated by the river. And the bridge, running off the highway on West Kennedy Blvd, leads cars going all over the place.
