The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan illustrates the story of Percy Jackson and his friends trying to protect Mount Olympus from the evil Titan Kronos. The Titan Kronos had got out of the underworld and took over Luke’s body. Kronos/Luke had decided that they wanted to destroy Olympus.
Percy and his friends were the only hope to save Mount Olympus. After a lot of injuries and battling, Percy and his friends were winning. Then Annabeth (Percy’s comrade) tried as much as she can to push against Kronos and talk to Luke who has Kronos residing inside his own body. Annabeth brought Luke out and then Percy gave him a knife so he can get rid of Kronos by killing himself. Because of Percy’s bravery, he got any wish and he choose for all the gods to properly recognize all the children of all gods. In this novel, the character Annabeth displayed many characteristics such as intelligence, selflessness, and courage.
Annabeth displays many acts of intelligence throughout the story. In chapter 10 of the book, Annabeth was able to crack the code in activating Daedalus’s statues. Daedalus is Annabeth’s half-brother and the son of Athena so Annabeth got the notes for activating the statues. In chapter 20, at the end of the book, Annabeth was given the task to rebuild Mount Olympus.
Annabeth had used her wits, her strength, and her courage to defend this city so she had the honor to rebuild Mount Olympus. To get the honor to build Mount Olympus for all the gods must ment she is smart. Annabeth displays many acts of selflessness throughout the story. . In chapter—– of the book, Annabeth somehow knew that Percy’s soft spot is on his back and jumped in front of Percy to save him.
While knowing she could get injured very badly she still jumped in front in Percy because she knew that if he gets hit in that spot there would be an automatic death. This shows that she demonstrates the act of selflessness. Also in chapter 14, she rode a flying pig to save everyone. This pig was from Greek Mythology and is called the Clazmonian Sow. It terrorized Greek towns back in the day and no hero has ever beaten it.
Riding a flying that has never been defeated to save her friends shows that Annabeth displays many acts of selflessness. Annabeth displays many acts of courage throughout the story. In chapter 16 of the book, Annabeth flew a helicopter to save Rachel. She didn’t even know how to fly it but she risked her life to to save Rachel (Percy’s mortal friend). What Annabeth did proves that she displays the act of courage.
In chapter 19, at the end, while Annabeth was fighting through the pain, she tried to talk to Luke who is trapped inside his own body. Annabeth was half-dead and she was still reminding Luke what he told her and that his mom had predicted his future. Fighting through the pain while talking to a dangerous titan takes courage.
Throughout the book, Annabeth displayed many characteristics such as courage, selflessness, and intelligence. Annabeth will always think about her friends ahead of herself. If she and her friends are attacked by a monster and she had a chance to save herself, she would instead think about saving her friends before saving herself.
Annabeth is very courageous and brave. When she has to risk his life for the greater good, she gathers her courage and does what she needs to do. She shows many signs of intelligence throughout the story. For example when Annabeth was able to crack the code in activating Daedalus’s statues. In conclusion, Annabeth has proved that she is selfless, courageous, and an intelligent individual.
