So I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Is it actually wrong to pay someone to do my homework? I've got 3 part-time jobs, full course load, and family responsibilities. Sometimes I just CAN'T get everything done. What do you guys think? Where's the ethical line here?

I mean, there's definitely a spectrum. Using resources to help with homework? Totally fine. Pay for homework that you submit as your own? That's basically cheating. I think the real question is what you're trying to get out of your education. If you're just paying for a degree but not learning, you're mostly cheating yourself.

@EchoStorm! I think context matters. If you pay to do homework for a gen ed class that's not related to your major, maybe less harmful. But for core classes in your field? You'll be missing fundamental knowledge. When I was overwhelmed last semester, I used PapersOwl for some basic assignments but made sure to review and understand what was submitted.

I've been in your position before with too many responsibilities. Have you considered that when you pay people to do your homework, you're not developing the skills the assignments are designed to build? Maybe there are other solutions - talking to professors about extensions or reducing your course load?

hot take: universities charging us $$$ for required classes we don't need for our actual careers is unethical too. if i need to pay someone to do my homework for underwater basket weaving 101 just to graduate, i don't feel bad about it lol

There's definitely a difference between getting help and straight-up having someone else do all the work. When I was struggling with statistics, I did pay for homework help through edubirdie.com but I worked through the problems WITH their tutor, not just getting answers. That way I actually learned the material while getting assistance.

I think a big question is: can i pay someone to do my homework and still get something out of it? If you're reviewing what they did, learning from it, and using it as a teaching tool - that's different than just submitting work you didn't even look at. The intention and what you do with the completed work matters.

@EchoStorm! have u considered that when u pay to do homework ur potentially putting urself at risk of academic misconduct? most schools have pretty strict policies. my roommate got caught last year when his essay had references to sources our university doesn't even have access to 💀

honestly i don't think it's black and white. sometimes when u pay someone to do my homework ur just trying to survive the semester. education system isn't designed for students who work full-time or have family responsibilities. but yeah there are consequences if caught

I've been in this situation. For me, I decided to pay for homework help from https://essays.studymoose.com/ only for subjects that weren't central to my major. For my core classes, I prioritized doing the work myself, even if it meant getting extensions or lower grades. It's about what knowledge you'll actually need later.

This might be controversial, but I think there's a difference between undergraduate and graduate work too. If you pay people to do your homework in grad school, that's way worse ethically because you're supposed to be developing specialized expertise. Undergrad gen ed requirements? Meh, less concerned about that.

I struggled with this question too. What helped me was distinguishing between different types of assignments. Practice problems that don't count much for your grade? Maybe okay to pay someone to do my homework if you're overwhelmed. Major projects and papers? Probably not ethical, and you miss out on important feedback and learning.

There's also a difference between pay for homework completion and paying for tutoring/help. When I was stuck on a programming assignment, I used PapersOwl.com for consultation. They explained concepts and helped debug, but I still wrote the code. That feels more ethical than just buying completed work.

Honestly, this is why I think education needs reform. When students feel so overwhelmed that they need to pay someone to do my homework, it shows the system isn't working for everyone. Maybe more flexible deadlines or different assessment methods would help. Until then, everyone's just trying to survive.

@EchoStorm! Have you considered talking to your professors about your situation? When I was overwhelmed, I was honest with my prof and got an extension instead of having to pay to do homework. Many educators understand life circumstances if you communicate. Worth trying before spending money or compromising your academic integrity.
