late to this thread but when i needed help with marketing assignment work for my social media marketing class, i found it helpful to use the GAME framework:
G - Goals (specific metrics you want to achieve)
A - Audience (detailed personas based on research)
M - Message (value proposition + tone)
E - Execution (channels, content types, frequency)
this breaks down the creative process into analytical steps. also, check out paperswl.com - they have some excellent marketing plan examples that follow this kind of structured approach!
Adding another perspective for marketing homework help - analytics IS creative! Try these exercises:
1. Inverse segmentation: instead of who would buy your product, analyze who would NEVER buy it and why
2. Constraint creativity: set specific limitations (must include specific colors, must be under 5 words, etc.) and see what emerges
3. Algorithm thinking: if you were designing an algorithm to create marketing content, what variables would you include?
These approaches help bridge analytical thinking with creative outcomes!
Final update: Just submitted my project and my professor loved it! Used the perceptual mapping to identify an opportunity, created data-backed personas, and developed a messaging framework based on the Jobs-to-be-Done approach. Even the creative content ideas came from analyzing high-performing competitor content.
This was the first marketing homework I've actually enjoyed doing. Thanks again everyone for helping an analytical person navigate creative marketing!
