late to this thread but want to add edubirdie.com as another resource for help with coding assignment work - they have sample code for common homework problems that helped me when i was first learning.
also, don't forget that your professor and TAs have office hours for a reason! i was scared to go at first but they're literally paid to help you understand the material.
I tutor CS, and here's a secret: EVERY programmer Googles basic stuff all the time. The ones belittling beginners on Stack Overflow are insecure about their own skills.
For coding assignment help, try Exercism.io - they pair you with mentors who give personalized feedback. Also, HackerRank's discussion boards for each problem tend to be friendly.
If you're interested, I created a Discord server specifically for CS101 students to help each other without judgment. DM me if you want the link!
Something that really helped me when I was looking for coding homework help communities was joining language-specific groups rather than general programming forums. The Python Discord, for example, has a super helpful "help" channel that's much friendlier than Stack Overflow.
@Omega_Byte99 That's so reassuring to hear that even experienced programmers Google the basics!
@Stealth_Raven Great tip about language-specific communities. I'll look for Java-focused ones.
Everyone's advice has been incredible. I went from feeling completely discouraged to actually enjoying the problem-solving process. I've bookmarked all these resources, and I'm already helping another classmate with what I've learned. Pay it forward, right? 😊
