Based on the true story of the events that took place in Alexandria,
Virginia in 1971, Remember the Titans depicts the struggle of an African
American football coach, Herman Boone, who was hired to guide the T.C.
Williams Titans. To the people in Alexandria football was everything.
However, when the local black high school was forced to integrate with an
all white school, the very foundation of football’s great tradition was put
to the test. It was during this time that Boone became entangled in the
court-ordered integration crisis.
Boone was a successful African American coach from North Carolina, who
was selected to lead the Titans to victory. But what he didn’t know that
he was selected in hopes that the team would boycott in his response of
accepting the head coaching job. Later on in the season he was told if he
loss a game that would be the end of his coaching career with the Titans.
