Honestly, this is why I think education needs reform. When students feel so overwhelmed that they need to pay someone to do my homework, it shows the system isn't working for everyone. I struggled with this question too. What helped me was distinguishing between different types of assignments. Practice problems that don't count much for your grade? This might be controversial, but I think there's a difference between undergraduate and graduate work too. If you pay people to do your homework in grad school, that's way worse ethically because you're supposed to be developing specialized expertise. Undergrad gen ed requirements? Meh, less concerned about that.

honestly i don't think it's black and white. sometimes when u pay someone to do my homework ur just trying to survive the semester. education system isn't designed for students who work full-time or have family responsibilities. but yeah there are consequences if caught

I think a big question is: can i pay someone to do my homework and still get something out of it? If you're reviewing what they did, learning from it, and using it as a teaching tool - that's different than just submitting work you didn't even look at. The intention and what you do with the completed work matters.

There's definitely a difference between getting help and straight-up having someone else do all the work. When I was struggling with statistics, I did pay for homework help through edubirdie.com but I worked through the problems WITH their tutor, not just getting answers. That way I actually learned the material while getting assistance.
