I have been a working artist for over twenty years. I did my undergraduate work at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston and earned an MA and MFA from SUNY at Albany. I work in a wide variety of media, including painting, found object sculpture, decorative furniture and giant gourd bowls and instruments. My work is influenced by the folk art of Central and South America and West Africa, the contemporary art community, and by my involvement with social issues. I show my work in galleries throughout the area and in Bucerias, Mexico. I have been a New York Foundation for the Arts grant recipient for various indoor and outdoor installation pieces and for community art projects with young people in the cities of Kingston and Poughkeepsie.
