Having been born in Catskill some time ago,and lived in the Hudson area nine years before moving to the beautiful Adirondack foot hills area when I married. I have drawn, painted and photographed animals and nature for 40 years. Self taught as an artist, working primarily in oils, I have shown my works At: The Fulton County Annual Art Show at Gloversville,N.Y. for many years. Also exhibited at the Pheasant Ridge Gallery in Greenwhich N.Y. and had my first One Woman Show in the Mayfield Gallery, Mayfield N.Y. Many works by commission, and 400+ Pen and Ink Illustrations, as a commercial artist for a Real Estate Co. I have been on a path of late, discovering a deeper meaning to life, this lead me to the Mohawk Valley, and later farther north to the Native American Reservation at Akwasansne, and Canada. I wish to raise awareness of the native American people - a people long forgotten, and often stereotyped. A people of fine craftsmanship,of basket making, bead working, sculpting, jewelry making and best of all their hand made regalia [ceremonial costumes] everything original. They relish being unique persons --not following designer names as so many of us do. I would encourage all to read the account of the true history of this nation, from the book by Dee Brown,-- " Bury My heart At Wounded Knee " . They are people who cherish the Earth, and live their spirituality daily. I love nature and have returned home to paint, and photograph it, where it speaks to me on a deeper level, The beautiful Hudson Valley. I am of ancient Scots and Irish linage and hope to connect with the Celtic culture here in the mountains, which is parallel to the Native American culture. I am also a Certified Bereavement / grief counselor, a Healing Hands Therapist (Energy Work) and former Certified Nurse's Aide. By coming home, I am coming full circle just as nature too, works in circles.
